State: Land

Deodorants and Antiperspirants have long faced scrutiny. It started with the regulation of CFCs (Chlorofluorocarbons) in the 1970s, with CFCs (commonly used in aerosols) shown to contribute to ozone depletion. Since then, other chemicals in deoderants and antiperspirants have been shown to cause their own problems.

Trisoclan is an anti-bacterial chemical that is often used as an ingredient, and can't be filtered out during waste water treatment. Unfortunately, Trisoclan is toxic to algae, impacting this valuable food source and disrupting water eco-systems. If you read the back of your deoderant can, you'll see a big range of ingredients - almost all of these will be fine, but here at FourState we believe it's always best to go natural where possible!
