  • Product Story

Dolphins delight us with their playful antics and warm our hearts with their friendly faces. Because they possess a high degree of intelligence and have a sociable nature, we see a lot of ourselves in these amazing creatures. However, dolphins are dwindling in numbers and, in some cases, are on the brink of extinction.

At least 10% of dolphins and porpoises have been found ingesting ocean plastic, which can cause fatal tears and blockages. Of equal concern is ocean plastic ingestion by their prey species, which introduces chemical pollutants into their bodies that can cause significant health concerns.

Entanglement in fishing gear kills more than 300,000 dolphins, whales, and porpoises every year. Dolphins are also hunted, captured, and sold into the billion-dollar captivity industry, but everything we know about these intelligent creatures shows us that they don’t belong in concrete tanks performing tricks for our amusement.

    From Bali, with love

Hand assembled by an artisan in Bali, Indonesia.

Purchasing a 4ocean bracelet does more than clean the ocean. It also creates sustainable, living-wage jobs.

As soon as the beads, cords, and charms reach the main facility in Denpasar, Bali, a crew loads up the van and motorbikes to distribute these components to artisans in remote villages scattered across the island.

Women comprise 80 percent of this workforce. In Bali, women tend to assume the role of primary caretakers for their families, which means their job opportunities are limited. Because they’re able to hand assemble our bracelets in their homes and village centers, more women are able to join the workforce while continuing to care for their families.
